What is the standard for 7+, 8+ entrance for prep school please? I can see past papers for a few famous prep schools online. However, I don't know how well a child needs to do on the test to be offered a place. I also don't know how expected standards vary between independent schools.
- How much prep does a successful child need to do?
- How far in advance?
- How much higher achieving do they need to be compared to their state school year 2 peers for it to be a realistic application?
- Is it a stressful/traumatising experience?
We live near Oxford so researching Magdalen College at 7/8/11 or Dragon School at 8 or Abingdon Senior at 11. So especially keen to hear from parents who went through this process in Oxford recently. Thanks very much.
