Conflict of 1st year T level result

Oldest child received email from college last week stating he had achieved a B Grade for his core exams. Today, the letter from the exam board came with a D Grade result. Has anyone else had this upset? Gutted for him. He's been a consistent top of the class achiever this year. Just a bit miffed that the college likely got it wrong.

Was there another element to is other than the core exams ? My DS had this last year, I think he got a C in the Core exams overall but there was a project element which he did badly in which meant he got a D overall for the first year

No other element for the first year. Needs to complete 320ish work placement hours, which he is currently undertaking. Will also need to do some sort of project for his 2nd year. Do you happen to know if core exams can be retaken?

Yes, core exams can be retaken in November / December. I’d query with the college why they said he had a B and try and work out why it’s different.

Thanks, good to know he can retake. Yes, I'm going to try to find out the cause of the discrepancy from the college.
