Hi Everyone,
We are currently living in West Yorkshire - family of 4, DD 6 years old and a baby - however looking to relocate to find a house more affordable (currently renting and can't afford to buy where we are). Looking for a 3 bed house for 250-300K. We have looked at houses etc and narrowed down Lytham, Birkdale/Ainsdale/Formby area or the Wirral. The biggest deciding factor will be the schools though, especially looking ahead at secondary schools. Does anybody have any insights or comments on schools in these 3 areas? Thank you very much in advance.

Friends of mine have been happy with the Range high school in Formby for their children. They say house prices have gone up in the area quite a bit though

My boys go to Birkdale Primary and it's brilliant. They'll probably go to Birkdale High too (boys school) and I've heard very good things, but it depends what you're looking for in a school. Feel free to pm me for more info.

Wirral has two separate grammar school “pairs”, Wirral Boys and Girls in Bebington and then West Kirby Girls and Calday ( mostly boys). They have good reputations.
The rest of the Wirral is largely comprehensive schools, mostly mixed sex but some single sex ones.
There’s no real catchment issue for the grammars, but you might want to factor in travel time, although nothing on the Wirral is <that> far away😂
Housing in Caldy and West Kirby / Heswall is more expensive as a rule than that around Bebington, so your budget might get you more on the Bebington side of the M53.
