Has anyone sent their DC to any childrens' cookery, carpentry classes around their area? Are there similar classes in car engines for children?

DS is very interested in cars, he loves reading about them, takes an interest in engines / tyres etc and has even started making plans to buy an old mercedez and to do it up.
We are not sure if there are any lessons or classes for children where they can learn about engines , maybe take them apart and experiment. Recently, I bought DS a replica model engine (a toy plastic one) and he had fun putting it together.
Does anyone have any idea about these type of classes for children where they can learn about engines etc?

There seems to be some lessons for carpentry and cooking which I think DS would be interested as well. Anyone sent their children to these lessons? what was the DC's experience like?
DS is 10.

Sorry OP don't have any recommendations but just to say I think it's lovely you want to encourage your son's interests in that way. Wish my mother had done something like that for me!

Thanks for your response @bibop . Yes , worried about DS as he is reaching his teens and we want him to have an interest instead of spending too much time on screens or from having any unwanted influence

My kids did this when younger. They operate across the uk

youngengineers.org

You should also look at Dcouts which offerers a varied all rounder programme.

Mine all did the mechanics badge in Scouts
Same with woodwork and also different types of cooking (both campfire cooking and preparing a 'dinner party' meal, and, come to that, mass catering).

Not heard of any specific courses outside of that though.
