We're considering going private for secondary school for DS, currently in year 5. The two schools currently on our shortlist don't seem to do formal entrance exams, but bring prospective students in for a day or two of classes and a few tests including verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
Our current thinking (and I may be way off here) is that there's no need to go crazy doing practice papers etc but I would like to give him a bit of exposure to some verbal and non verbal reasoning tasks so he has a basic familiarity with them. He's bright but sometimes panics or freezes when faced with something new and I want him to feel confident so he's able to do himself justice.
We've had good results in the past with websites for maths and reading that gamify questions and put them in a fun interactive learning environment - I've tried to find something like this for verbal and non verbal reasoning but am only coming up with formal test taking practice sites which seem a bit overkill for where we are. Any suggestions?
