Hello there,

My son got 11+ from these schools.

Colfes: We like the school when we went the open day. We live in Blackheath, Colfes is 15 mins walk or we can drop him by car easily.

Eltham College: About 3 miles away from our place but no transport options. He cant travel by public bus or train. We cant drop him because we work in different direction so school bus only option. But not sure if I want to pay 7 years school bus fee for Eltham College because we liked other schools more when visited them.

Dulwich College and Alleyns: school bus about 45-55 mins journey twice a day. Facilities and GCSE results are great. Just not sure about the journey. He needs to wake up before 6:30 and get ready before 7:15 to be able to catch the school bus.

Dulwich and Alleyns are great schools but don't underestimate the impact of that long bus journey. My two used to do similar (to get to Eltham College in fact) before we moved and it becomes very, very wearing very, very quickly.

All 4 are great schools as far as I know them - and in reality there's not much to choose between them when it actually comes to the day to day. Most kids will be happy and do well at all of these schools. Convenience is an important part as those 7 years can feel very looooooong!

When does the period for accepting the offers end as it must be in the next couple of days? Go with the easiest journey.

What does your son think?

The deadline for accepting a place has passed now? The places may not be available any more?!

we had a similar choice and chose DC.

i still think it was the best school for ds but the journey is not to be underestimated.

deadline was last Friday - so either this is a weird way of soliciting opinions on schools or sadly you’ve missed the boat spectacularly

Hello, wondering which one you went for and why and how you feel about the decision? We are in the same position.
