One child at St Cats and one at RGS - doable or madness?

One of my children has been offered a place at St Cats and the other at RGS. I am worried that the schools are some distance apart and the traffic in Guildford is a nightmare.

Has anyone had children in both of these schools and made it work? I can’t wrap my head around how I’ll manage to go between the two. One could potentially go on the bus to St Cats but we don’t know where we will live yet so can’t really rely on this. Is there a quick back road route between the two which doesn’t involve going through the town centre?

You can get to Bramley on lanes from One Tree Hill etc. to Chilworth/Shalford then Bramley via Chinthurst Lane. All depends on the start times for each school. It's doable but traffic even on the lanes can be a pain, as single track/passing places can cause a problem sometimes with multiple cars. Really a longer term solution is to get one DC on school/public transport or the one going to RGS on the train to London Road station which is a short walk to the school.
