Which school is more suitable for a shy girl going into Year 7

I went to Adam’s (I am a female) it was an incredible place to be in sixth form. I was really well supported and actually did better in my A levels than I had expected to. I went in to study law at Exeter university. It’s been 2 decades since was there but certainly it was a supportive, nurturing school and I felt stretched but never in any hot-house situation. I’m a teacher now and I am grateful for my time at Adam’s

Most people I know who have gone to Adam’s seem to have had a great time and really rave about the school. I’d heard problems in the boarding house with not good pastoral care but that’s pretty much it

As pastoral care is important, ask about what provisions they all have. Even more so Shrewsbury with there having been issues reported about a teacher and children self-harming.

Personally because of that I'd draw a line through them unless you could guarantee she wouldn't be teaching your DD. There are so many other good suggestions and options.

I think we will avoid Shrewsbury Girls, the imbalance of power when a teacher bullies a child frightens me greatly and I feel uncomfortable knowing the teacher was swearing at children. Also their GCSE results are down this year.

Anyone any experience of Wolverhampton Grammar - the private school. Is the pastoral care good? Do you know @Mrr1970
