Anyone have any advice for foreign students who wish to enter mainstream education in the UK? Good or bad I would welcome any advice!

Many thanks

What age? Do you mean higher ed? Most universities now have foundation courses (at a price...) which are designed to help non-native speakers (mostly from outside the EU) to develop the particular language skills they'll need for study in UK Higher Ed. If you want more info about exams and the like, you can CAT me.

midnightexpress - I am thinking about EU students 18-25 years who have followed a basic english language course. Do they need gcse's maths and english to get a job in the UK? I am researching what foreign students need to have to enter mainstream education - in fact what is mainstream education these days? there's so much out there for all types of learner !. To me mainstream education is -GCSE's O and A levels, Degrees, Masters, Phds ? Would you agree with that? or am I completely wrong?
