After what seems like months of research we have narrowed down our prep schools choices to St John's or Lochinver for DS (and Stormont for DD when she follows year after). DS didn't get into Grimsdell which was our first choice.
St John's is definitely love it or hate it. I wasn't that enamoured with it and have obviously heard negative things (mainly online). I do not know anyone who has their child there so have no real life up-to-date info to go on?
Whilst we haven't heard anything necessarily negative about Lochinver/Stormont and know two families who have children there and they are both happy, I just wanted to know if anyone had any insight/views before I pay the deposits and commit?
The only pros to St John's is that it is co-ed so both my children can go there rather than having them at separate schools and they do have strong academic results.
We loved both stormont and lochinver though and no negatives to say about either, other than we will have two children in separate single sex schools, one of which is one form entry and the other two form entry so their experiences will be different. They seem to be a 'safe bet' and where we are leaning towards ultimately.
Any help appreciated!!
