& there is only one near us!

My Q is, if she doesn't get in, are there any ways of appealing based on her choice of not wanting to be in a mixed environment?

I get there may be strong opinions on this but i am more after experience in dealing with this sort of thing. Admissions knowledge / if there are certain criteria that needs to be met to make this happen.

For eg, religious reasons, or anxiety reasons etc?

Your DD's desire for all-girls school wouldn't be sufficient reason for an appeal, I'm afraid. It would have to have some solid basis such as having particular problems with boys during primary school maybe.

The authorities' position is that single sex and mixed sex environments are both appropriate for all DCs unless some special circumstances apply. A simple preference for one over the other won't hack it. Sorry.

No i fully agree @thing47 its just really stressing her out that she may not get in & i was more wondering if anyone knew what those special circumstances were to see if any applied?
