I taught one child who was in care. Initially the child was with the mother....who was wildly dysfunctional, alcholic, abusive and negectful.

Child was in our catchment area, eventually taken to live with a foster family. With the support the child got there, from people who really cared, the child blossomed beyond recognition.

The foster family arranged a move into a school in their catchemnt area, much easier for them and the student, In addition the school is one of the best in the district.

I was sorry to lose my student, but delighted to see the improvements that had already happened. I have no doubth that things have continue to imrpove.

Stability and a loving enviroment, not to much too ask for, is it?
