Help!!
im a mother to two children one of them will be doing her leaving Certificate next year and my son, is doing his Junior Certificate this year in June. My son turned 15 this May. We’ll be moving to Belfast next year in the summer most likely. I’m worried for my son, I’m not familiar with the education system in Northern Ireland and know nothing about A-levels. Will my son be able to do his A-levels even if he won’t do GCSEs? What is the process of getting into A-Level schools? My son is certain he wants to go back to the Republic for university, so what A-levels should he do that will be able to broaden his course decisions? I don’t want him to pick for example, subjects like media studies and not be able to attend college because you need certain A-level go get in.
someone who is familiar with both the Irish and British schooling system please help🙏

You should post on Craicnet, the mumsnet section for Irish posters.
