What do you think of this video?

I was quite surprised. Reading mumsnet posts I have always had the impression that Eton is fairly progressive these days - brilliant bursary program and the intelligent rather than those with tons of money and family estates are getting in on merit rather than being put down at birth.

But this felt like watching something from 100 years ago. Both in what they were protesting about - their beagle hunting pack being threatened - and the fact that it talks of families with estates offering to house the pack. I also thought it was rather intimidating for younger boys to witness.
Made me feel very different about the school, and that it wasn’t one I would pick (if we can ever afford!)

@TizerorFizz
There were 497 prosecutions insert the hunting act between 20035 - 2019 .

There have been a considerable amount in last 18 months due to the high profile webinar that showed up that hunts were not only hunting illegally, but having zoom meetings to try and share ideas about how not to get caught. Because of that successful high profile prosecution expect to see many many more.

@Sprongs It's astounding the lengths people will go to to defend these cruel practices. As you've ably pointed out, it's not only the prey that suffers. The entire concept of hunting is long out of date in a modern society.

@TizerorFizz and so we awake to yet another story of a high profile set of people engaging in alleged animal cruelty and illegality. Do we think the tide might be turning and ‘Hendo’ might be well aware of public sentiment on this type of issue? Well done him I say.
