Sunnyhill/Bruton School for Girls - any advice appreciated!

We went to have a look at SunnyHill/BSG this week and thought it looked lovely though the tiny size of the prep school worried me a bit (reception-yr2 together for example). Wondered if anyone had any experience of the school and how having joint classes across year groups works practically! Looking for our DD due to start school Sep 2022. Thank you!

I would be very wary of a mixed YR-2 class and suggests that things aren’t going well financially! Reception should be completely different to Year 2 - I can’t see how that could benefit the children. I wouldn’t commit to a tiny school like that - have you looked at the accounts?

The school is the most amazing place. DD started in year 7 in September. I wish she had started a couple of years ago.
Yes, the prep is small but the R to year 2 class works well. I imagine it may well grow as their nursery is pretty new, I think. I studied the accounts before we joined. They look pretty good and the school owns its own site.

Happy for you to DM me. I'll help if I can.

I think they sold off some of their buildings recently.

Thank you so much for the messages. I had the same misgivings @cinnamonchips and it did worry me. I have heard from various people that, as you said @sprongle1 it ‘works well’. I’m not sure though, what that means? Are all the year groups reaching their potential?
Thank you for the offer of DMing you @sprongle1, I might take you up on that. We loved the senior school and I’m so glad you think it was the right choice.
There’s little to no info from parents out there on the school so that’s hopeful!

@salsamummy I saw this too as we love locally and are Rightmove junkies! Perhaps this solved their possible financial instability? Smile

Does it mean the children have the same teacher for three years in a row? I did see the job advert for that teaching role come up a while back but I didn’t realise it was just one class.

Sadly this school closed last week. Very low numbers.
