Dinosaur · 06/11/2007 11:03

olala, I don't as a general rule tell people where I went to college, but thought it was helpful to the OP in this context (as she is deciding how to help her dd)

Dinosaur · 06/11/2007 11:04

and I went there from state school which had never previously entered anyone, and I was a summer baby, and my parents left school at 14

so I don't have anything to be ashamed of

Dinosaur · 06/11/2007 11:09

Very inspiring thread! Am currently thinking of alternative careers to project finance law to start in a year or so. Battling with the money versus career fulfilment thing - my heart was never really in corporate law.

Almost all lawyers I know talk wistfully about leaving, men and women. Maybe its grass is greener syndrome. Although most stick with it I notice.

I was thinking about going back to my roots (ie what I did in my training contract) and switching back to family law. May involve an MA or starting as NQ or something. Interests me and may be more flexible around dc. I kind of got sidetracked into project finance and the international part was my favourite bit of it.
