Need a new laptop for my 17 yo in yr 13

PC or Apple? We need one that can handle spreadsheets and causal gaming and dvd pictures. Please advise.

For gaming it needs to be windows really. 16gb ram is helpful (8 absolute min). Dd has an hp which came with a pen and touchscreen, ideal for note taking

HP will have something that fits (so long as it is in stock as there seems to have been a run on laptops for home work / education etc.). We have Apples and PCs and (at work) something from the black lagoon.

Dd is not a serious gamer but only occasionally my dd likes to play a it of online games with friends. Also I need it for spreadsheets for my self employment.
