Advice on future home schooling or how to get yr 10 child into new school

Hi I need help advice and support. I have a yr 10 child who started secondary school life at the local high school, was badly bullied so moved to boarding school beginning of yr 9, their choice, the school life was perfect, but boarding and being away from home too much so came home to a local day school I said it wasn't the right place but DH thought it was. It hasn't worked out so now we are in lock down with no school and 3/4 through yr 10. Have applied to all local high schools apart from the one attended originally due to bullying. So far all have come back as full. DH and both work for our selves. Contemplating homeschooling through to GCSEs now but ideally would find a new school.
Please no Nasty comments I don't think I could take them right now. But help, advice or suggestions really really appreciated.
I hope everyone is staying safe and well.

There is a separate home schooling board which you may find helpful. I would imagine you need to start by finding out which exam boards he was working towards.

Or is there a local private school which will let him start year 10 in September 2020.

Contact your local authority and advise your DD has no school place. They will support you to identify a school place.

I think at this stage I would use something like InterHigh combined with some tutoring to finish GCSEs. I'm not sure starting a 4th school in 5 years would be a good idea.

Could try interhigh.co.uk/ or other on-line schools - but starting mid GCSE would be hard.

Have you tried the local council admissions team - see what they can suggest?

Though Selfsettling3 suggestion of local private school and re-starting Y10 would probably I suspect be most likely way forward.

Thank you for the advice. Local council were not helpful I will look into the online school. Agreed I'm very very worried about a fourth school. This is not how it was meant to be or how it is for siblings either thank goodness.

@Megmerry I’ve heard good things (on the home Ed board) about MyOnlineSchooling - it seems to be preferred over Inter High.

Alternatively you could look at distance learning/correspondence courses - have a look at Little Arthur Independent School or Oxford Home Schooling. You get a full course pack with assignments which are marked and tutor support on the phone.
