We are moving to Datchet and I wondered whether anyone knew anything about these schools? Can anyone explain the system to me with first schools - where do they go next? Thanks!

I know...outrageous name isn't it? But it is real, I promise and if anyone knows anything about it (other than that it should consider renaming) I'd be really grateful!

first is followed by middle (ages 9-13) then they go onto sec school.
think there are a couple of firsts in eton, one of which has a good rep. sorry, forgotten which one.

have a look at ofsted.gov.uk (thin that's right) and check the report for the shcool. oboviosuly doesn't tell you everyhitng but is a useufl staritng point.

if it's the one in eton proper, IFYKWIM, in the High St, then it has a v good local rep.

Kings Court First School is in Old Windsor, not Datchet. You have to pretty much live in its catchment area. It feeds into St Peter's C of E after year 4.

I had a pupil in work experience at the nursery there, and it seemed like a pleasant place.

There is an anomaly with LEAs and Datchet, btw. Datchet, despite being in the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, is in the Slough LEA.

Thanks for all the info - I have done some research on the ofsted reports and they both look like good schools - I spoke to both directly and have made appointments to go and visit. I rather naively hadn't realised how difficult it would be to find a Y1 and Y2 place at the same school. Thanks again
