Hi,
My son was a boarder at St George’s school Harpenden for one year. He did not like it. It is not a good atmosphere. The boarding director is a nightmare. The school uses the boarders as cash machines . They are only interested in getting money but do not care much for the children. Our of approx. 1400 pupils at school only around 100 are boarders. During the weekends it is very boring and lonely . I know many parents who took their kids out because they were not happy there

I was a boarder at Cranbrook a long time ago and had a great time. Really nice town for children (and visiting parents).

Back then, it was very much run around the boarders and we were only really allowed home at exeat weekends and half-term so there was always loads going on at weekends.

It may have changed a lot since, so hopefully someone with children there in more recent times will post.

Do they have a place available for a girl boarder in Y10? Not a normal point of entry and there are far fewer girls boarding houses than boys.
