Looking for some opinions on Kings College school v/s St Paul Junior

We are a Putney based family with 7+ offers from both schools- Kings and St Paul’s Junior. Looking for information on personality types that will thrive in either! My son is quite academic but likes cricket, tennis, swimming (not Football or Rugby!) and loves science and music! He is quite a softie. The worry I have is the distance and wondering whether keeping it local is good v/S the amazing science facilities and in house fields of SPJ! Any opinions and advise or thoughts gratefully received!!!

Having seen this description of your son's personality, KCS would definitely be the option.
It is surprising that you think the science and sports facilities of SPS are better than KCS.

Both are fabulous schools, and much of a muchness.

My advice after years at various school gates is keep it local. SO much easier.

Thank you both.
@Utility - There is a new science building at SPJ with a floor dedicated to each Physics, Bio and Chem at a par with university level. Admittedly they may access this a few years down the line. Also some recent feedback on mumsnet indicates that only A and B teams get extra training due to demand on sport hall, pitches etc. At SPJ all teams A to F have more access to playing and training. This is where my impression came from. Academically I think both are fine.
@Growingboys - Agree re local but Putney while closer to Wimbledon does not feel far from SPJ hence feel torn about this decision!!

If you are in Putney then you are perfectly placed for either school location-wise. Personally I would err towards SPJ in your shoes on account of some personal recommendations from friends whose boys are just loving it and really getting stuck into the various extra curricular things. They aren’t super sporty as it happens (one more than the other) but are definitely in school teams and improving a lot. I also think SPJ has the slight edge from a reputation / brand perspective although that is just personal perception and others will disagree (+ who cares anyway!).

Ps nice choice to have. They are great schools.
