I work in a pre-school, and we don't have a T.V.. They can watch that at home, presumably.

At school they get to socialise with their peers and learn what is acceptable behaviour and what is not, ie turn taking, sharing, listening, understanding other peoples feelings.

In what way does watching TV help in a sing-along? That is what the Play leaders are there for surely.

twiglett are other children there all day? If everyone is there for only 2 and a half hous then agree it is a it unecessary (ds2's nursery is open from, 8.15pm until 6pm with many children changing at 1pm, so it makes sense to have the TV on at chnageover time when it is absolute chaos- but then theoretically a child could be in for almost 10 hours so slughtly different from your case!

I guess most schools have TV's (they would need them). Best to ask how its used I guess.

ON another note met yr1 DS1's teacher yesterday and she said that the TV had been left out in the classroom by mistake earlier in the week and she had to spend the whole day peeling ds1 off it (it was off- he just glued himself to it).
