Comments on Longwood school in bushey and Edge Grove in Radlett

Hi all,

We are in Bushey, Hertfordshire and looking to send our child to either Longwood School or Edge Grove School.

Please could you share your views about these schools? Thanks

Our DS has been at EG since year 3 and we cannot praise the school highly enough. I am a teacher myself and if someone had asked me to design the perfect school for him I wouldn't have been able to do it as well. The school caters for all ability children, supporting those at the lower end and excelling and pushing those at the upper end. The staff are wonderful and caring and work so hard during term time. The curriculum is outstanding and so creative that the children have a real thirst and hunger for learning.

I was cautious as my DS isn't particularly sporty but he has been taught so well that he loves his games and PE lessons which are a huge part of EG life. The range of after school clubs is amazing and there is an opportunity for students to stay at school till 6.00 every night which is extremely helpful if you are working.

I really can't praise the school highly enough, my only gripe is that they don't go on until 18 and that my DS will have to leave at 13. If you ask him or any of his friends they would all say 'I love my school".

In my opinion EG is a very rare place indeed with an exceptional, charismatic and forward thinking Headteacher.
