Relocating to the UK and thinking of Reddam House School..where to live?

Hey
We are relocating from the US back to the UK and I'm looking for a co-ed independent school for my DS yr3 and DD yr 5. Reddam House seems to fit what we are looking for (especially since my son is a gymnast!) but what I can't work out where to live! My DH will be driving to Acton so we need to be North of Reddam and I'm not sure what roads will be like in the mornings so is it realistic to pick somewhere that is 5 miles or 8 miles away from the school? We will be new to the area so I'm looking for a nice community feel, somewhere DS and DD new friends will be close by and somewhere I can also meet new friends. Any help gratefully appreciated! Also is it a friendly school that parents can be involved in too?? Just thinking of ways I can meet new mums!

Just seen this with no responses - so wanted to jump in. I don't have personal experience of the school but drive by often. It is in an area of busy traffic with regular hold ups so you would be best to get as close to the school as possible. I think they now have school buses so ask about the routes and maybe fit in with those if you need to be further afield. I do know many who attend the school and most live in the Wokingham area so that would be a safe bet for friends nearby.
