Well i am very confused with the choice that i am suppose to make between abingdon school and MCS, well my son is a sensitive boy and average in terms of studies, he loves reading and i personally feel ge can achieve lot if he gets good encouraging teachers, we have just moved in from dubai so it a bit different environment here, abingdon school my husband loved it but my concern is about the discipline since my son had been to open day and the children had gone to science lab where the seniors werw playing with the ball and they were some weird situations happening where the senior boys were passing chits which had words written butt, boobs and stuff like that, i told him clearly he will find different types of people everywhere... but the problem is with my son he forms an opinion very soon, now that makes me worry as well that is abingdon or MCS

I guess at least you can do a bit of prep for the interview. For 13+ the boys had to fill out a sheet with books they had read recently, interests, favourite subjects etc. Those were then discussed at the interview. Helpful to have at the front of your mind a few things to put down. I’d also recommend a bit of practice for tricky questions, eg how to deal with a question you don’t understand or haven’t a clue the answer to, without panicking. They definitely dug a bit in that way at 13+

Our DS has been offered a place for 11+ entry this year at Abingdon School (Well done DS). Delighted for him and going by the comments here, sounds like Abingdon is an ideal setting for him to maximize his potential. Thank you all for great support and encouragement. I would love to hear the update from the OP regarding their choice of school.

Well done to your son! The lower school is a lovely place to be. If he does not know the Star Wars films watch a few before September. All will become clear.

Look near the Thame bus route or anywhere near to both a school bus route and the train route from Oxford Parkway to Marylebone station. That train service works really well.

Make sure look at this map from the Joint Bus Service, if you have not done so already:

@geetamotwani I wonder which school did you choose in the end and if would you be so kind to share your experience with the chosen school if your DS went to Abingdon or MCS finally. Thanks so much.
