Open day where?

MrsScavo · 26/06/2007 23:11

You mean at a private school?

Tommy · 26/06/2007 23:11

to show off the school's best attributes - usually just a show IME - not a real reflection of what goes on but useful nonetheless

So you can talk to his teachers and look around the school I guess. Do go - teachers do notice the parents who bother to turn up and those that don't.

It's nice to get a feel of the place and see it in action.

Quattrocento · 26/06/2007 23:27

It doesn't really have any purpose IMO - so if diary crowded out - it's something you can miss

It's interesting to have the opportunity to have a good look at their books, the work, the displays to get an idea of what they have been working on this school year.

You should also be able to go into the next year's class as well to get an idea of what they'll be moving up to.

LIZS · 27/06/2007 17:06

They put up a show of the kids work and you get to nose at the classrooms of the next year up !

Pixiefish · 27/06/2007 17:07

In the secondary school I used to teach in we had one every 2 years. Same as primary- it's a chance for parents to see what goes on at the school

pointydog · 27/06/2007 17:26

The school should have made it clear to you. Schools can be very poor at communication.
