I got the magnetic ones to stick on the fridge from the great little trading company' but as an afternoons test, lets see if we can come up with them ourselves.

How come teachers don't tell us that they want the kids to learn to this stuff? If I had had that list I could have been working on getting DS to recognise the words in the books he's been sent home with already.

My ds1 doesn't start school till next Sept - are these just the words they learn over that first year?

There's another thread, sorry, I can't find it, that lists the words that the National Curriculum wants them to sight-read, sorted by which term in Yr-R that they focus on those words especially. Here's the list (I copied & pasted it for home):
