Any experience of Bohunt Education trust schools, Hampshire area

DS's secondary school has joined up with the Bohunt Education trust.

On the surface it seems like they may help the school but I realise it may be all smoke and mirrors.
The trust seems to cover "naice" areas so I'm not convinced they've had to work that hard to get better results Hmm. Our town isn't that bad but has form for average - poor secondary schools.

Any insights, good and bad would be appreciated. TIA Smile.

The Liphook school made the local news today for enforcing school uniform strictly. That is 100% of my knowledge. Smile

Thanks teen.
That news story doesn't surprise me. The BET give off that sort of vibe.
DS is the sort of kid who will be fine with any silly rules but I'm not convinced it will have much to do with raising standards.

I didn't pick up the detail at lunchtime, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had warned everyone at the end of last term of their new approach and to make sure you follow the rules, and no one took it seriously.

It generally isn't that hard to get a skirt of the correct length, or to have trousers that don't show underwear etc. But they then also need to have hardship funds or whatever for less well off parents if they are going to be ultra picky.

The Liphook school featured in a tv show a couple of years ago. Something about is Chinese or English education system better.

I'm not sure I was that keen from the programme, but I do know some children there and they seem to be doing ok.

Speaking to parents and teachers the liphook school is thought of highly, they get good results. Someone I spoke to had a child with significant learning needs and the parents seemed happy too.

I’ve applied to BET school for DS1 in September. It is streets ahead of our catchment, LEA school. I was very impressed, but they did give the impression of being an idividual entity rather than ‘answering’ to the trust, not sure if that makes a difference?

Have several friends with kids at said school and extremely happy with it.

Caveat - Not Liphook.
