City London girls catchment area

Is there a catchment area for city London school for girls? I currently live in a commuter town close to London but not in London and want dd to apply but can’t seem to figure if you have to have a London address or not. We would move closer to the school if dd got a place but don’t want to move before in case dd doesn’t get in.

No catchment area. Think realistically about the commute though.

No. They have girls coming in from all over (including Essex).

We've got kids at DS school coming from (technically) China, Hong Kong, Scandinavia... And very very south London.

Thank you all! If dd got a place there would be no big commute as plan to move a fairly short commute away as dh works next door! I went to a super selective and girls came from a long long way away so I wasn’t sure if they had a catchment area or the same like my old school and do not.
Either way we will move to an area close to whatever school she gets into, dh works in Barbican so hopefully won’t humiliate dd too much on that commute if she were to get a place

It is an independent, fee paying school. They don't have catchment areas. Commute and social contact ie how far from friends is a different matter of course.

@Michaelahpurple thanks, I’m aware the kind of school it is, dd at a (non selective so mostly local) prep now but with regards to catchment areas there was a map on their website for catchment of where girls come from alongside a few sentences of, girls come from all over London, showing only London postcodes, hence the confusion.

Also add to that me being a little bit daft and overwhelmed with the level of competition in these schools. Feeling like might have to go dig out my best handbags for the open days

Probably worth working into your application that you plan to move just in case in a tie break situation they decide your apparent commute is too brutal and so give another candidate the edge as as Simone upthread mentioned, I am sure you have spotted all the tears and chaos about exploding offers, so decide upfront if they are your first choice and plan your acceptance of an offer with paramilitary rigor!
