Would someone mind telling me if this is sufficient please.

RE: XXX XXXX. Morning Nursery Class.

I am writing to inform you that we will be taking XXX on holiday, week commencing Monday 4th June for 1 week.

I appreciate that taking a holiday during term time is not ideal. However, as my husband is self employed and has a very heavy work load, we are unable to take a holiday at any other time this year.
Yours....

TIA

Seems OK - though our school just has a form that you fill in, so maybe ask first?

SugaryBits · 20/05/2007 20:57

Thank you. Will do.

I think it is advised to ask permission, so put not inform, but I am asking for schools permission to allow xxxx to take holiday

School can still refuse and it will go down as an unauthorised absence if they do

Surely if it is nursery you do not need permission as they are not legally school age.

I have taken mine out of nursery and Reception with just a letter saying they won't be there.
