We are considering Downsend, Parkside, Milbourne Lodge, Danes Hill and St. Teresa's - would be keen to hear views/ know about recent experiences. We have one daughter and one son. Many thanks.

This is a wide range of schools, it would help if you said what age your dc are, their academic ability, and if you want them to be at the same school like Danes Hill, move at 11 or 13 or stay at the same school - like St Teresa's. This part of Surrey has loads of schools that fit most abilities. People travel miles from Guildford to Wimbledon once the children are 11.

Our daughter is four and our son is two. Thank you

Difficult to say whether they are academic due to young age but they seem to be fairly bright children. Undecided on co-ed or single sex

Go for a mixed Prep school up to 13 like Danes Hill or Feltonfleet. Or Surbiton Boys and Girls Prep up to 11. Otherwise Milbourne Lodge and Rowan Girls that are near each other. Make your life as easy as possible. 2 schools from such an early age can become a logistical nightmare plus siblings like being with each other and the school gets to know you as a family.

There is a waiting list for Feltonfleet so haven't pursued. Danes Hill seems very big and I'm not sure it would be right for us. Do you know anything about Downsend and Milbourne Lodge? I know they are both co-ed.

I know Milbourne, it's a traditional boys Prep that use to prepare boys for boarding school but with changing times they are 1 of the main feeders to Kings Wimbledon and other outstanding boys secondary day schools. It located close to Rowan which is a really lovely Girls school, you never hear a bad word about it. If you go for St teresa's its quite remote but there is a school bus to St Teresa's from claygate so you can drop them both - but it's an early start for a small dd. If you work Milbourne doesn't have the most family friendly school day and the half term in the summer term is out of sync with most other schools. I do agree that Danes Hill is big. I would visit Rowan or Notre Dame next.

Sorry there are girls at Milbourne but it depends on your dd if she wants a boys environment.
