OK, be honest, who is still 'sitting' on more than one school place for their child/ren?

Lots of 'school places' issues around near us, and DH has a theory that once everyone has 'declared their hand' and accepted one school and confirmed rejection of the rest that it will all settle down, and most people will end up OK.

I still know people 'sitting on' places at a private school/ a 'less popular' state school but who are holding out for their preferred state school.

So, honestly, please, for a poll (and change your name is you want to) how many people are still 'sitting on' more than one school (state or private) place for Sept 07 - either primary or secondary?

And to get the ball rolling, I was until about 30 minutes ago. (Had two private places - have just rejected one).

Me. I am holding onto a place at a lovely primary, and a lovely prep school. In two weeks I will reject one or the other....

Shergar - what will happen within the next two weeks which will help you decide, just out of interest?

Legacy, have a look at the thread on 'please help me with my school dilemma', also in this folder! Essentially the deadline for giving notice to the prep school falls then.

tbh it was us 2 years ago (holding 2 places each for 2 kids - one state, one private - plus option on a 3rd - private - until May half term) In my defence we were almost certainly going with the first private but dd had her trial session scheduled for May and the pthers were fall abck in case she hated it or them her.

In the grand scheme of things, for some people, sacrificing the equivalent of a term's fees in lieu of notice plus any registration fees is small beer if you can get a good State place and save squillions long term. However you should find it is largely resolved by the beginning of summer term for the private ones to avoid this.
