Hello, I've just joined mumsnet because I really want to warn people about this company. My daughter's school gave out leaflets for exemplar education. They then sent a text and another leaflet telling us to return forms. Exemplar Education is a trading name of EBS Systems Ltd. Being an accountant I checked the public record for this company. This company's directors have not filed accounts with the Registrar of Companies. They are overdue as of 13/07/17. It is a legal requirement for directors to file accounts on time. I asked the headteacher why the school is promoting a company that is withholding its financial position from the public record. Anything could be going on with this company. I believe they ask customers to sign credit agreements. This company could be in trouble but how do we know without accounts? The head teacher agreed to stop the promotion on ethical grounds but i since found out that they are carrying on. I'm a joke to them. They won't reply to my questions in writing. I've written to the chair of governors. Does anyone know of anything else I can do? I thought teachers and schools were meant to be socially responsible and this is so sad.

So iv just joined this group. Like everyone else i was lied too and tricked into joining. I am now waiting for the final ombusman decision. If this doesnt go my way, i will be going the whole way to court.
Can i ask if anyone has actually got a positve result from the ombusman.

We signed up to this when my daughter was going for her 11+ transfer test in p7 or could have been end of p6, she is now first year. We pay £70 a month. She went on it a few times before her transfer test, and as you can't go further till you hit over 80% mark on each module, she didn't do it again. I can't remember the login details, I can't get hold of them the check. So £70 a month for last year or so is not worth it if not using it. Never mind been able to afford it.

I was thinking that too as I am in same boot as yourself. I am worried if I stop DD will I then be hit with a big bill or fine. I am just getting back on track with bills myself after my marriage spilt

Can i ask if u have been houded with calls and emails demanding the money? Thrratned with baliffs?

I’ve been asking for advice for over a year , no-ones gave any . Im thinking with all this going on and people losing their jobs is the effect time to cancel direct debit . I’m paying £70 a month for nothing . Times are hard , they are at the bottom of my priority list . I say we all stop paying . What’s your thoughts?

I stopped DD last night and I’ll keep stopping it if they try to restart the DD . They can’t get blood out of a stone , if they send threatening letters I shall return to sender if they send bailiffs they’ll b told to s*d off . If they take me to court then all I can afford is £1 a month . I’ll keep you updated when they try for their payment middle of next month

@twinsmum66 i have just received the final decision from my ombudsman, and so happy they have agreed with me and i will receive the money i have paid so far back, 8% interest from the date i signed. its been about 3yrs, very long process. but im happy. good luck love.

hi i have finally heard back from ombudsman and they have agreed in my favour, it took a while but I'm very happy with outcome. how are you doing, have you managed to cancel yet?

Hi. This company is still tricking parents into their scam.
Please find me on social network and message me. We have a group of parents fighting, and a case in court. We try to cancel the contracts we have with the useless software made in New Zealand. Outdated and not to UK curriculum. Exemplar Education and 3J Finance have the same owner.

No matter what is your situation with the payments, the bank will refund you and stop the direct debits. Call now your bank, and show as evidence screen shots from the application and also the reviews on trust pilot! Good luck!

Hi did you get a full refund from this? Mine was also upheld (twice) still continued payments never stopped paying until the last 2 months.
With the 8% it wasn’t very much.
