Schools in and around Lewes, East Sussex?

We've fallen in love with Lewes and contemplating moving there or its surrounds.

What are the local schools like? Either public or private.

We're a bit hippyish and love creative schools.

Would love to hear any tips!

Have a look at Lewes New Svhool or Lewes Old Grammar for independent schools
Primary schools are good but generally oversubscribed; an underperforming school and also a local village school are due to close in the near future, so in-year placements will be hard to find.
I looked at moving there 6 years ago and there were no Year 2 spaces, so we decided against it.

Primary or secondary? Many kids will travel daily to Brighton or Eastbourne for independent secondaries. Bedes is fairly close and focussed on sport and creative arts.

Priory is an excellent state secondary. Lewes Old Grammar is a lovely, creative and welcoming private school from 4-18. You can't go wrong in Lewes. You could also travel to Brighton for Brighton College or
bHHS if you wanted top class Indy secondaries

This is great, thank you!

I'm after primary for now, but secondary later.

Bit worrying that there are no spaces in year though...
