How easy is it to move kids into primary schools in Kingston?

We're thinking of moving to Kingston (on Thames) from a London Borough and have two sons age 7 and 5. Does anyone have any experience of trying to move kids into school outside the usual application times? Or know how likely it is that we'd get places for them in the one of the good primaries there?
Any experience or advice would be very welcome! TIA

I suspect that the good primaries are full, but you might be lucky with your 7yo then be able to put your 5yo on the waiting list and benefit from sibling priority if any spaces come up subsequently for them.

But suggest you phone Surrey CC to talk to them - they will know the situation and - IME - are very good to to chat to about options
