www.schoolcuts.org.uk/#/schools. Use the link then add your post code. This will take you to a website that outlines the loss to your local school and what that equates to if teachers are cut. Some schools will be cutting support staff first others are fundraising.
Share the details of the loss here so we can see how this will affect our children's education. Also if you know what your school is doing to make up the shortfall please post it here.

The upper school ds is starting in September will apparently be losing the equivalent of £641/ pupil and 18 teachers Angry

conserveisposhforjam · 27/04/2017 18:44

It's about 90k.

So three (fairly junior) members of staff-ish?

soimpressed · 27/04/2017 18:46

3 different schools

  • £207 per pupil - 2 teachers
  • £500 per pupil - 3 teachers
  • £220 per pupil - 6 teachers
conserveisposhforjam · 27/04/2017 18:48

Oh shit no - 90k is what we were projecting. It's actually 140k. Fuck me.

I'd like to see anyone fundraising their way out of that.

tetherended · 27/04/2017 18:50
  1. 400k 10 teachers
  2. 50k 1 teacher

-£340 per pupil

-2 teachers.

13 years ago the school my children go to was due to be demolished because they had too much availability, now they're DOUBLING its size and capacity and they're doing the same to every school in the area.
Costing millions.

So whilst they are having cuts they're also investing for the increase of the population, which is the same size as the population of Newcastle every year in immigration alone!.

Might I also add that he schools are In a very small town, not a big city where you'd expect it.

I can understand the frustration with the Tory government, but let's not forget who put us here!.

Maybe if Tony Blair hadn't been spending 4 million per day destabilising the Middle East, and instead invested in THIS country, been a little more ruthless with immigration etc, then we wouldn't have had this problem in the first place.

BurnTheBlackSuit · 27/04/2017 18:57

Near me, a college is losing £1.3 million. That's 35 teachers Shock

PossumInAPearTree · 27/04/2017 18:57

£392 per pupil
-11 teachers.

Who they've already sacked. Dd now in a class of 60 for some lessons.

xyzandabc · 27/04/2017 18:58

Primary £367 - 4 teachers
Secondary £502 - 21 teachers.
I work in the secondary and am quite worried about my job. Over the next 3 years it equates to £800,000 shortfall on top of the £250,000 we've already lost in funding for the 6th form in the last couple of years.

There have been redundancies of support staff, TAs not replaced, SEN support cut back, maternity leave not covered (work just absorbed by the rest of the overworked team). Attempts are being made to fundraise but anything raised is just a drop in the ocean compared to over a million £ worth of cuts.

Our primary currently have 3 classrooms without working whiteboards, school can not afford to replace them. I really feel for those teachers. PTFA has just started a 200 club to try and raise the £9k required for those alone.

xyzandabc · 27/04/2017 19:00

Just remembered that the secondary is going from 11 to 12 form entry as more pupils means more money. Not quite sure how that works though as I'm pretty sure there won't be extra resources to teach an extra class!

PossumInAPearTree · 27/04/2017 19:00

Even worse at the new school she will be starting in Sept. they will be -26 teachers! Losing 995k which is £748 per pupil.

FlannelTimCircleSocks · 27/04/2017 19:00

A local primary school has already told the TAs that 5 of them will have to go - they all have to reapply to for their jobs. Awful situation.

anyadviceformee · 27/04/2017 19:02

£554 per pupil -5 teachers

Fatbird71 · 27/04/2017 19:11

It would be interesting to know the source of all this data. I'm not disputing it, just wondered how accurate it is. ( it's the auditor in me)

Crazyvaperlady · 27/04/2017 19:11

Well this isn't good!

Careful, I got slaughtered on a thread a couple of weeks ago for having the audacity to ask for the data source. Grin

MiladyThesaurus · 27/04/2017 19:16

Of course, switching energy suppliers will save several hundred thousand pounds a year. Great advice there Nick Gibb. Hmm

Studyinghell · 27/04/2017 19:17

£412pp :0

TheInterruptingSheep · 27/04/2017 19:22

£762 per pupil
14 teachers
Angry

CJCreggsGoldfish · 27/04/2017 19:26

Under the 'About' section in the menu is 'Data and methodology' which shows where they have calculated the projected cuts from.

I can't get my head around this level of cuts to schools, I really can't. It's just a big 'fuck you' to the next generation of state educated pupils. As cliched as this is, surely we should be investing in the future of our country? Makes me so angry.

billythelurcher · 27/04/2017 19:28

£480 per pupil

5 teachers

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 27/04/2017 19:28

£1039 per pupil or 21 teachers. They don't have enough now for the full curriculum and cut most of the post 16 offer this year. Just lost 20 teachers through redundancy. Can't afford to lose another 21.

GlitterGlue · 27/04/2017 19:29

Down £242 per child and losing 4 teachers.

So, which schools are actually gaining?
