I'd be taken aback if a teacher decided not to come in for a week or more because they were taking a cheap holiday. Other parents would feel the same I'm sure! And I didn't get to ski until I could afford to psy for it myself in my 20s - why on earth would you take kids out of school to go ski-ing?? That's just nuts.
