Oh yes, it's the girlies' night out, isn't it? with glitter too? watch out for strange men with carrier bags...have a lovely time!

Well done to DS3 btw - and have you decided about school for DS2?

popsycal · 14/07/2004 22:27

teacher assessment is the level which the teacher judges the pupil to be at
the test level is what they score in the test on the day

the task????
is this at key stage one?

nutcracker · 14/07/2004 22:32

I'm gonna sound so thick asking this but will my 6 yr old dd have done SATS yet ??
If she has then i didn't know about it and still don't.

Janh · 14/07/2004 22:34

They do them in Y2, nutty - in May - most of them will be 7 when they do them. So don't worry about it yet!

nutcracker · 14/07/2004 22:35

Oh good, thought she'd done them and i missed it.
Something to look forward too then

My ds1 got all level 4's (KS2) - we're very pleased for him as at this time last year he was only projected to get a level 3 in his maths. (in the breakdown in his school report he got a level 5 for his reading).

My ds2 (Yr 3) got a level 5B (!) in his optional Sats Maths test and level 4's in the others.

So worry over for a little while longer - ds1 has done what was needed of him and can start off now at high school on a good footing.

MotherBear · 15/07/2004 00:01

As I am soooooooo bursting with pride at dd have to contribute - she got all 3's and she was still only 6 when she sat the tests. She does get very nervous over things but school handled the whole week excellently and she didn't feel under any pressure at all. Needless to say dh and I are so pleased for her and have only just stopped grinning!!!

more nice news - well done all.

Just got two good reports for our sons (phew!) but no mention of SATS results as they are in Reception and Year 5, I guess.

Ages ago we were told that oldest got level 4's in all subjects in May this year, and they hope he'll get level 5s in year 6, but he is one of many predicted level 5s in his class.

I know our school got excellent year 6 SATS results this year - the best ever, so really pleased for them.

Anyway, I'm relieved that both reports said my sons were 'cheerful'. Very glad they are happy at school. DS1 is 'enthusiastic, sensitive, can empathise with the feelings of others and (very loud trumpet here) perseveres and has worked very hard this year!!!! I never thought we'd see those words on a report of his!

DS2 'is developiing a positive attitude to learning and can be kind and considerate. He gets on well with other children in general'
At home in the last month or so, DS2 has got very keen to write words and numbers and draw pictures, so things are going in the right direction.

Those are great reports for your boys TM. Well done them!

You must be very proud.

tigermoth · 15/07/2004 17:49

thanks roisin, yes, I woke up smiling today!

hmb · 15/07/2004 18:05

Tigermoth, that is such good news, you must be so proud of them.

On ds's this year we had, ' X has made tremendous strides this year. Whe we compare his language skills with a year ago, he just isn't the same child.

tigermoth · 16/07/2004 11:28

you must be happy too, hmb!

Patra · 16/07/2004 12:13

Hi, my twins have just got their Y4 reports giving them level 4 SATS result for English - Reading and Writing (optional tests). We have been told that children are given a flat Level 4 and there are no 4a, 4b or 4c grades for English - does anyone know if this is correct?
Tks!

Marina · 17/07/2004 12:13

Congratulations you two - no wonder you are smiling! So am I. Wondering what ds' report holds...
