First parents evening in Scotland for P1 and P5. What should I know/ask?

Moved here just before Christmas. This is our first meeting with the boys teachers. I will obviously ask about social side of thing but as the grade thing (A - E but E is best) and subject names are different here I wondered what else I should be asking?
What grade should P1 and P5 be at things?
My oldest has a special need too (fine motor skills are poor so he uses a key board not a pen). Should I be doing/asking anything about that?

I don't know about P5 - but for P1 don't be surprised if he hasn' reached Grade A in anything yet as it appears to be obtained between P1 and P3 is most subjects. Also, don't know about your school but the Grade thing is not really made a big deal of in our school.

This website should give you some help - \link{http://www.ltscotland.org.uk/5to14/about5to14/index.asp}.

We moved to Scotland a the P4 and P1 stage and our youngest has since been diagnosed with Asperger's and, more recently, dyslexia. They're now in S1 and P5 so I guess we've got used to it now. Hope this helps.

Great website Nosilac - it really helped (even though this thankyou is a week late!).
