Moving to Edinburgh, any advice on good academic oriented Prep schools close to city centre and nice areas to live by....

Hi, I'm a newbie here and delighted to say we are moving to Edinburgh as part of work assignment. We will be working near by city centre, any advice/ suggestions for a good Prep school for our 7yr old one? Also please suggest any nice and safe multi cultural place to live not too far away form city centre. Thanks

I've been following this thread for a while - where do most children from Cargilfield go? I'm interested really in ESMS but agree that Cargilfield looks appealing, just can't get my head around what happens to all the children at 13...

Here's the page giving the destinations of the 2016 Form 8 leavers:

That's of course not quite all relevant destinations because not every child stays to the end of Form 8 - in particular some girls' schools have their major intake at 11 not 13 (so and some of those who go on from Cargilfield to all-through schools make the shift earlier than Form 8, and those aren't shown. It's a reasonable guide though.
