dd is 4 and we are thinking of sending her to Barracudas holiday activity scheme for 3 weeks over the Summer.

Has anyone used them for a child of this age and can give me any feedback?

Thanks

Thought they had to be 5?....my 2 boys went summer before last...youngest was just 5 (Aug birthday)...it was excellent but they were exhausted...would you do 3 weeks consequ?..I picked them up early as I think iy was all a bit intense...this summer I got myself a summer aupair...who looked after the and they did lots of low key activities

She has to be 5 before 31st Dec 07 which she will be in Nov. Did think that she may get tired but she'd be in the youngest group and I would probably be able to collect her early on some days.

Can't have an au-pair - no spare room!

Yes, our older 3 went a few times and then the youngest did one year for 2 weeks. Older ones still say how much they got out of it by the way. In think for very little children it can be a bit tiring and ours had a sibling there but they did a lot of good things, swimming every day, lots of sports etc.

Thanks Xenia. I did think about asking ds if he wanted to go. He's 14 and could do the Barracuda X club which means he shadows a member of staff for part of the day and helps out. But they still charge full price for him so I knocked that on the head pdq!

It was when the older ones were 5/7/9 that they did it I think. One of my twins didn't want to do it for a second year and so we didn't bother. Older children said I should have made them do it.
