ALL NEW; WHITGIFT/TRINITY/DULWICH/ALLEYNS 10+/11+ 2016

Thought I'd go ahead and start. Found the old threads really interesting and would welcome ongoing input from those who've been through the whole process.
Ds in Year 5 and we are looking at a mixture of grammar schools and indies for 11+ Whitgift recommended this year - we've been told there is a drive to raise academic standards. We're going to the Open afternoon on 10th Nov.

Has anyone heard yet about the sports scholarships next Tues / Wed and Thurs?

No, nothing yet.

No from DC, so sad and we didn't even really like the school it's just close to home. Fingers crossed for W and RR. Haven't told the DS as I don't want to upset him before any scholarship assessment days. This needs to be over its traumatic.

Feel for you, sorry to hear your news. Fingers crossed for you DS for the other two schools, and you're right, it is quite traumatic!

RJsMa so sorry to hear it. We have "no" from DC too. But my son loves it most of other schools. It was his first choice. He was very very upset. He didn't understand why "no".
We are waiting letter from Hampton. Really worry about it.

Long term lurker here. My DS sat 10+ for Whitgift and Trinity last week. We just got an email inviting him to a Music audition next Tuesday.

So if you are waiting for news, don't forget to check your emails as well as watching the post!

Post man is getting later and later! Yesterday was 2pm! Not good for the nerves. Well done NNSO3 - which day does your DS have to go? Is it 10 or 11+? Hope you don't mind me asking!!

This is slightly off-topic: if anyone following this thread is in a middle of 11+ preparations for next year, Sutton Grammar mocks have just opened for bookings. Either google it or go to the school's website and the PTA tab - you will find the details there.

On Monday for 10+. I know this is bloody awful. Fingers crossed for you.

NNS03 - you may have seen it already, but if not, I think it may be worth searching last year's thread as some parents posted comments about what the sports scholarship assessment day at Whitgift was like. Good luck!

Still no word from Whitgift and Trinity but as I have read - we are not alone! When are the Whitgift sports assessments for 11+? Do Trinity usually phone to arrange interviews? Has anyone actually heard from Trinity 11+ yet?

I sincerely hope you will not need it, NNS03, but I would have done the same if we were doing 10+. Just like taking an umbrella to prevent the rain!

My experience is 2 years old, when most of correspondence seemed to be by post - but we received a letter towards the end of the week before (ie this week) inviting to the sports assessment. Seems the sports assessment invites came from the sport dept, rather than admissions.

Whitgift's 10+ Sport Scholarship invitation by post, Music Scholarship invitation via email. Trinity Music Scholarship invitation by phone call. Not sure about 11+.

Radiatorvalves- you won't hear from Alleyn's until the beginning of next week - letters usually arrive on the Monday after the exam

Some trinity 11+ news from us, the school had heard today and told me to expect a letter tommorow.

Letter from Whitgift today DS has an interview! So relieved!! Still no news from trinity! Fingers xxxx for everyone who are still waiting for news!
