Hi,

We've been offered a space for our daughter at RPA but also have an interview at Fulham Cross since it is closer to us.

We are new in the area and any information on these schools would be so helpful.

Thank you

I don't know the schools, but looking at the DFE site, Fulham Cross has better Best 8 value added results,

www.education.gov.uk/schools/performance/

So I'd definitely look into that one if it's closer to you.

Thanks for your advice. It turns out my daughter began at Fulham Cross this morning ! But Where do you find the rankings "8" ? We are new to the UK system it is interesting to learn about this

Go onto this and then scroll down to Best 8 Value added. You are looking for figures over 1000 www.education.gov.uk/cgi-bin/schools/performance/school.pl?urn=139365

Value added refers to how much progress they make at the school from their starting points. I hadn't realised your post was from end of August!

Best 8 refers to the child's best 8 subject results i think

Rania2015, when you say "interview" did you just mean an invitation to look around before accepting an offer, or was your offer given after the interview? Did they call it an interview? I ask because state schools aren't allowed to interview applicants before making them an offer - you either meet the admissions criteria or you don't.
