SATs - I didn't realise they were so long

I was in school today and some of Yr2 were doing their KS2 SATs. They did two (or maybe three) substantial sessions of maybe 30 mins each. And they had the same amount the previous week too.

This was just half of each Yr2 class (doing the top graded paper I think?). During this time the rest of the two classes are covered by two supply teachers. Presumably later in the week, the rest of the class will do their papers. Is that it now, or are there more tests to come?

I was astonished! I have railed about the nuisance and pointlessness of SATs in the past, but I naively thought at this age they were just a couple of, say, 20 minute papers. Some of the kids coming out looked exhausted. Does anyone have a link as to how long the papers are at each level? I was really surprised.
