Just wondering really, especially when choosing a primary school.

Not long ago I read an article in Australia about school uniform, private in particular. It said that a lot of schools were hiring professional designers to create their uniform because so many parents were allowing their children final choice of school, and the kids were selecting based on uniform!! Admittedly, a lot of private high school uniform in Oz is straight out of The Secret Seven anyway! There was also a ground-swell of complaint about how many schools changed their uniform more often than Man United, and gave parents 6 months grace to convert, an expensive venture. ALSO, have you noticed here in the UK how many posh private prep schools have wild, purple, stripy, boater-y uniforms (97 quid for a blazer for a 7 year old?? Honestly!) YET their associated high schools have toned it RIGHT down presumably because the kids are old enough to decide not to be a walking advert for their parents' wealth anymore?!
