Moving from South Africa with two14 and 16 year old girls and 9 year old boy. Looking for private, good academics, good sport sp hockey and soccer, ideally co-ed schools in a quiet green quaint place to live. Husband commuting to London everyday. Looked at Combe Bank or Walthamstow for the girls,(nice schools, good academics, but hockey??) Are there nice Hockey Clubs? Loved Holmewood for the boy in TWells, would this combination works?Where to live then? OR Sutton Valence for all three, too far to commute?where to live?help!

Sevenoaks would be the most obvious choice but whether they have places for your dc is another matter, especially into secondary age groups. Are you looking for a levels or IB for your eldest?

Suggest you have a look at Ashford School. Ashford is only 38min by train from London and 30min to Stratford and thence Canary Wharf.

Lots of choice in Sevenoaks - especially as Sevenoaks hockey club is great and has a huge junior section. Sevenoaks sch (co ed) is very into hockey, or wally hall (girls) for the girls and new beacon prep for the boy?

In tunbridge wells there is Kent College for the girls which again I know plays hockey, not familiar with boys preps there.

Look at Ardingly College if your girls are hockey mad. Day school or flexi boarding, A levels or IB and the people are really lovely. Look at East Grinstead Hockey too. Live around Holtye, Hever or Cowden. Longer commute to London perhaps than Sevenoaks, but girls on school bus to Ardingly, and possible for you to do school run to HH for your boy.

Good luck
