Pretty much the same initially - go back 2nd Sept. with October half-term, then Christmas. February Half-term same time, then for Easter we have Good Friday and Easter Monday off, then back to school on the Tuesday (next day) which is 29 March.

Then they finish Friday 8 April for 2 weeks which will be the Spring Holiday. Go back end of April, then the Whitsun Half-term is the same.

What area/borough are you in? Is this for primary or secondary? I knew there were talks about this, but this for real or just a pilot scheme testing the reactions?

Given that Easter is very early next year that sounds like a good arrangement. (Here there will be a v short Spring term - c 45 days - and a v long Summer term - c 70 days.

Are the half-terms one week each, or two? Is the summer holiday mid-July - early September as before, or shorter?

I'm in Essex - and it's for Primary.

Oct. half-term - 25 October - 2 November
Christmas - 17 December - 6 January

Feb half-term - 21 Feb - 28 Feb.
Easter - Friday 25 March and Monday 28 March
Spring - 11 April - 25 April
Whitsun - 31 May - 7 June
Summer hols - Wednesday 27 July 2005.

It's still basically 3 terms then, just avoiding Easter as a long break. Must say if they're going to change I would favour a more radical one - 4 or 5 short terms with at least 2 weeks between each bit and a shorter summer break.

Still, it's a start!

Yes, I thought that they were planning to introduce 2 week holidays at regular intervals.

We are going back in September earlier - normally go back around 7/8/9 Sept. but this year we're going back on the 2nd - would have been the 1st but that's a Teacher Training Day

Quite happy with the 2 week break in April - weather is more likely to be better than in March. Had a fab 2nd week this Easter weatherwise

Where we are moving to in Lincs, it is either a 5 or 6 term year!
Should be intersting, hopefully will help the kids stopping becoming stagnant after such long terms?

I said this once ont he other thread

theres not much in it

That doesn't sound particularly different to me -what am I missing ? I would have expected a longer break at October and February.
