Hello everybody. I come from China and have applied some British school for Sixth form.
I am now thinking which is better? Trent College or Pocklington School.
In China is hard to find out because the agency always tells everybody that every schools they have suggested are good.

Now I happened to find this website, any one who have the experience can give me some advice?

I have received the offer from both school.
I love Pocklington school but it is smaller than Trent.

Whatever, What I most care about is test result. More precisely, the University destination. Because my parents do care about that and they hope I go to Oxford or Cambridge or LSE something like that.

Thank you.

I have friends with children at Pocklington and they are all happy with the school. From what one has said they run a supportive programme for students wishing to apply to Oxbridge, including visits. One friend's DS recently went on to engineering at IC. One has a daughter in the 6th form and she seems happy and to be doing very well too.

Hello it's me again and i finally work out how to Log in with my Google account in China by using VPN.
Hurtwood House rejected me and so i will go to Pocklington School at year 12 in Sept.
However i'm glad to know it because honestly i prefer Pocklington School. I like that small town and the teachers and the students. It is beautiful and amazing considering i have been living in the Capital of China where is PM2.5 everywhere LOL
Thank all of you for advice. Maybe i will set a new topic asking about what should prepare when i go to UK such as UMBRELLAGrin

Hi Cecile, well done on getting your place in Pocklington school. I live in pocklington and we are very happy here. We are considering entry for me 10 year old next September. I'd be interested to here your thoughts and impressions once you start. I hope you are happy with your decision.
