I thought I would take the plunge and start early the 2015 T/W/DC/A 10+/11+ thread that has become an annual staple MN!

This thread has been inspired by the likes of (among others) Ladymuck, Seeline, SoupDragon et al, who have been an amazing resources to people like me in previous years' threads.

Although T & W tend to dominate, I have also included DC and Alleyns as I know a lot of parents these days have DC's sitting for some/all of them.

I hope this thread will continue in the spirit of previous years' thread, with the support, hand-holding and knowledge that has been the hallmark of MN generally but this thread in particular.

Let the fun begin....

Liquorice12 · 13/02/2015 13:19

Just rung T neananna. Was told fees won't be fixed until Aprilish or thereabouts.

Vik123 · 13/02/2015 13:27

Hi all. Just to share with u. Just got the letter from w. He got scholarship n bursary. Which means we have to pay 31% of the fee. Is this good offer or not?

neanananaweek1972 · 13/02/2015 13:33

Thanks liquorice12! Would like to know before then tho'!

confusedparent2014 · 13/02/2015 13:39

Excellent scholarship offer for W. Glad that over :) well done everyone, Ive enjoyed reading from afar!!

farewelltoarms · 13/02/2015 13:42

Citymum - are you going to ask City whether they'll give you the results early or was one of those yeses from them?

Vik123 · 13/02/2015 13:54

Hi has any DS got barsary n scholarship together? my DS passed all grammar schools too.as we have to pay 31% of the fee for w we r thinking. Grammar or w?any suggestions. Tx

Ladymuck · 13/02/2015 13:58

Brilliant to see lots of good news so far. Vik, in terms of assessing how well your Ds has done you would usually take more notice of the scholarship percentage. The bursary is simply based on your income, so the less you earn the more you get.

citymum3 · 13/02/2015 14:01

Hi FArewell - no, not heard from them, but as the letter said if you need to make a decision pre 19 feb, let us know, I think they won't tell as they will be aware the Dulwich schools release today. We don't have to accept these til March. But I think we will most likely go for the local option unless there is a v meaty scholarship offer. DS's favourite was not a scholarship offer but the other 2 were.
I have naughtily resealed the envelopes so he can open them when he gets in.
And we still wait with interest for the state school offers- but I have very real concerns about those ( getting in, not the school itself) which is why we went down this route.
I want to have a banner above our Supposedly rubbish state primary school to say 'leave us alone we do a great job' and am in grave danger of hugging the Headteacher at pick up today. It must be agonising reading this thread now, try to stay calm.

Vik123 · 13/02/2015 14:05

Tx for the reply ladymuck. At the interview with deputy head master. I was told my DS was one of the best. But w has given little percentage of scholarship. Including barsary we have to pay only 31% of the full fee. I am sure my DS will get the place to wilsons. Now I am in diliema where to send him.

Ladymuck · 13/02/2015 14:12

Vik I think W tend to be very positive with all parents at interview. It is worth bearing in mind that the bursary will be recalculated each year based on your income and circumstances.

Gilbo1972 · 13/02/2015 14:13

Congratulations to all! First here with bad news :-( no offer from T. Very disappointed, how could they not want him?! Fingers crossed he gets a Grammar school place, i don't think I can go through the disappointment again. Anyone got any tips on how to break the news to DS? I have resealed the letter before I wet it with my tears... Blub!
