I thought I would take the plunge and start early the 2015 T/W/DC/A 10+/11+ thread that has become an annual staple MN!

This thread has been inspired by the likes of (among others) Ladymuck, Seeline, SoupDragon et al, who have been an amazing resources to people like me in previous years' threads.

Although T & W tend to dominate, I have also included DC and Alleyns as I know a lot of parents these days have DC's sitting for some/all of them.

I hope this thread will continue in the spirit of previous years' thread, with the support, hand-holding and knowledge that has been the hallmark of MN generally but this thread in particular.

Let the fun begin....

I've got letter - it says
'If you are required to respond to the offer of a place from another school before thurs 19 feb, please let me know; it may be possible for me to give an earlier indication of your son's result at cls'
I like the use of semi colon...

Ladymuck · 12/02/2015 16:52

If it is any consolation I'm not sure that I've seen our school registrar since the dcs started, and they can't remember who they were interviewed by. I know it feels quite a let down at the time, but it is worth trying to remember that the admissions process is a fairly small part of the overall school experience.

Seeline · 12/02/2015 19:39

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone for tomorrow and all those poor posties

Gilbo1972 · 12/02/2015 19:50

To all the T & W guys and gals, best of luck for tomorrow, hope all your dreams come true!

(Grrr! my postie isn't coming until 3.00pm...)

neanananaweek1972 · 12/02/2015 20:02

I would just like to say good luck to all for tomorrow! Though we are sadly all competing against one another in RL, it has been great to share this journey (I sound like an X Factor finalist Grin!) with you all and I thank everyone who has shared past and present experiences. Will be refreshing this thread at work tomorrow until I can pop home and get the post, will be tortureConfused

Firefox1066 · 12/02/2015 20:04

I interrogated politely asked my postie when he would be coming tomorrow and was told it'll be around 1:30. Sooooo tempted to go to the sorting office at 7am like someone did last year!!

Ours normally comes late morning but under strict instructions from DS not to open envelopes until he's home from school, so I'll be checking on here for clues as to what envelope shapes/sizes equate to.

InASchoolsDilemma · 12/02/2015 23:12

Our postman usually usually comes at 10.30, but we have a new one his week and he came at 2.00. It's going to be a long wait.

One more sleep ... night all.

Somelikeithott · 13/02/2015 06:25

Good morning all, hope the day brings you the news you wish for. All the very best. And happy holidays to those venturing away....

Somelikeithott · 13/02/2015 06:26

And hope all your posties behave themselves and turn up nice and early for you, so no camping by the doors required

paleviewofhills · 13/02/2015 06:56

Good luck everyone - will be watching this thread with interest as the good news rolls in!

Interested1o · 13/02/2015 08:06

On the way to work - but watching this thread. My son had a dream last night that he did not get into Trinity and he asked me this morning - Do dreams come true?

Firefox1066 · 13/02/2015 08:59

Didn't sleep a wink yesterday and have taken the day off so have now taken up residence by the front window!

Good luck to all today!!

Morning, everyone waiting for the post/news! I'm a nervous wreck this morning, drinking calming tea and all - does not seem to help. Our postman usually comes between 10 & 11 so not long, hopefully. Wonder, when people will start posting their news and who will be first? OMG, my heart just jumped at the noise - only to be a leaflet distributor!

mum3074 · 13/02/2015 10:30

It seems I'm the first one to get the post! Straight here after talking to DH on the phone. 3 offers - T. - good offer with bursary, W. - full fee (although like many before said of their dissapointment, after the interview with deputy headmaster we had an impression that some sort of discount, possibly academic will be offered) so W. is out of the running for us, RR - academic scholarship but sadly no bursary. A lot to think and weigh up now moneywise. A relief of knowing, proud of DS! Hope to hear good news from all of you.

Liquorice12 · 13/02/2015 10:32

Didn't sleep either Firefox. Our postman usually comes before 12. Horrid waiting....

Liquorice12 · 13/02/2015 10:33

Well done Mum 3074!

citymum3 · 13/02/2015 10:35

3 letters, 3 offers, 2 with scholarships. On the envelope front 2 were A4 one the size that is half A4- is that A5?
Tough decisions ahead. Good luck all.

bitsbots · 13/02/2015 10:38

We've just got the offers from both W & DC. DC is A4 envelope, W is A5.
Now we are waiting for the result of grammar school...may choose grammar if we have choice, it's free!

Good luck every one!

ladydepp · 13/02/2015 10:42

Seems like yesterday I was in your position last year!

Good luck all and well done to ds's of mum3074 and citymum3.

I definitely advise re-visiting the schools you are keen on now that you have your offers, it will really help you decide and it is nice to be the one in the driving seat for a change Wink.

Also, please please please decline any offers you definitely don't want. There will be some poor child hanging on a waiting list who will love to have your dc's place.

mum3074 · 13/02/2015 10:44

Thanks Liquorice12, hopefully not long to wait for you! Well done to bitsbots & citymum3!

Firefox1066 · 13/02/2015 10:58

Congrats Mum3074, Citymum and BitsBots! Well done to your DC's...still no post here yet..

Liquorice12 · 13/02/2015 11:01

Offers from T and W! Yipee! Full Fees but that was expected. Have just blubbed down the phone to DH and postman must think I'm mental as practically ran down the drive to grab letters. Well done to others who have heard. What a relief it's over! Thanks Bits for Heads up on envelope sizes - made it bit easier.

Finlayson1 · 13/02/2015 11:11

Well done to you all! We are still waiting for the postman to arrive.....

mum3074 · 13/02/2015 11:12

Fab news, Liquorice12! Thanks, ladydepp Firefox1066! Firefox1066, I feel for you, it must be hard waiting till afternoon, you better to distract yourself to let the time pass quicker!
